Family and Kids Dentistry
Healthy habits start early
We love looking after families and helping children feel comfortable at the dentist from a young age.
Early dental visits are a great opportunity for children to become familiar with the dental environment in a relaxed, positive way. We can check for signs of tooth decay, review how the teeth and jaws are developing, and identify any early orthodontic or airway concerns.
We also encourage parents and caregivers to ask questions about brushing, fluoride, diet and other ways to protect developing teeth. Our aim is to give families the knowledge and support they need to establish healthy dental habits for life.
Above all, we believe in prevention and positive early dental experiences, helping children grow up feeling confident and comfortable about visiting the dentist.
Child Dental Benefits Schedule
The Child Dental Benefits Schedule (CDBS) provides eligible children with access to Medicare-funded basic dental care. Children aged 0–17 years may be eligible depending on their Medicare status and family eligibility for certain Australian Government payments.
At Beach Street Dental Centre, we bulk bill eligible CDBS treatment, so there is generally no out-of-pocket cost for covered services within the available benefit balance.
The CDBS can cover services such as examinations, X-rays, cleans, fissure sealants, fillings, root canal treatment and extractions.
For current eligibility and benefit information, visit the Services Australia website or contact Medicare.
